8 best Boxing gloves reviewed 2022

With all the boxing equipment on the market, how do you find out what works best for you? Well, we’ve got the best-reviewed boxing gloves of 2022 right here, so let’s evaluate them by price, weight, form and function to see which one stands out:

RDX F6 Kara Kids Boxing Gloves

Size / Weight: 6 oz

Price Point: £28.99

Colours: Black/Black, Black/ Gold, Black/ Red, Black/ Blue, Black/ Pink, Black/ Green, Black/ Silver, Black/ White

This is an exciting kids’ glove which is immediately visually striking with its matte black base and glossy writing. Kids love variety, and so its eight colourways provide something for everyone. These are made from Maya Hide, a durable leather alternative that keeps the price point low. That’s fine considering kids need to keep changing and updating their gear as they quickly grow out of it. One thing children really need is protection, and these gloves deliver: RDX makes them using their Max Shock foam padding so that any shock is absorbed and their wrists remain safe. There are actually three layers total of foam on these, but they’re still lightweight enough to perform without weighing little boxers down. A quick dry lining and adjustable hook and loop wrist add comfort to these gloves. The one downside is, they only come in a 6 oz weight. This very low glove weight means it's limited to children who weigh between roughly 19 and 27 kg. Beyond that, these are much too light.

Starpro Combat C20 Training Boxing Gloves

Size / Weight: 8 oz, 10 oz, 12 oz, 14 oz, 16 oz

Price Point: £19.58

Colours: Black/White

Coming in at a very attractive price point without compromising on quality are the C20 Training Gloves by Starpro Combat. This are an affordable option that does the most - shock absorption, sweat-wicking, you name it.  These features reinforced stitching for max durability, so you know they’ll last a while. The taffeta quick dry lining also points to the gloves lasting longer. These are made from a vegan alternative to leather, PU Duratec, making them simple to maintain. A wide strap helps with wrist support as well as quick on-and-off during training. The C20s come in a classic black-and-white combination which everyone would love. Sizing is very inclusive, ranging all the way from 8 oz to 16 oz weights. This is a solid glove at an amazing price.

Venum Phantom Boxing Gloves

Size / Weight: 10 oz, 12 oz, 14 oz, 16 oz

Price Point: £89.90

Colours: Black/ Red

The Venum Phantom boxing gloves are striking to look at: the base is black with a graphic, weblike sublimated detail in grey all over the surface. Contrasting red accents of the trademark Venum logo adorn it. It’s not all looks though: the triple-density foam that these gloves boast means full protection. You know your wrists and knuckles are in good hands with these, especially when you see the longer cuffs on these for maximum support.

Perforations in the glove serve to help sweat evaporate, making these great for sweaty training sessions where you need a glove that has proper ventilation. Venum gloves also have lasting power, and you can see that with the reinforced seams on these ones. The size range for Phantom gloves is respectable too, going from 10 oz through to 16 oz. The price point, however, is quite high for something that’s not confirmed leather. Strangely, their site does not mention the material.

F55 Fusion Boxing Glove

Size / Weight: 8 oz, 10 oz, 12 oz, 14 oz, 16 oz

Price Point: £32

Colours: Black/ Red

The Starpro F55 boxing gloves, also called the Iron Fist by the company, are made of durable Japanese vegan leather, avoiding fine lines from detracting from their great appearance. The ergonomically designed shape holds the wrist in a supportive manner, preventing strain and acting as a protective mechanism. Starpro's S-flex impact technology distributes all the force from a punch meeting a surface, keeping the knuckles and hand safe from injusry. The high-quality padding and shape also mean that it's a versatile glove that can be used for bag training if bought in a heavier weight. The glossy black finish and red lettering are retro yet ultra-modern. Hydra flow mesh lining is quick drying and helps keep the glove interior well-ventilated throughout a workout session.  With their reasonable price point and great range of sizing, these are a clear winner.

Everlast Powerlock2 Training Gloves

Size / Weight: 12 oz, 14 oz, 16 oz

Price Point: $64.99

Colours: Black/ Grey, Black/ Red, Black/ Black

The Powerlock2 training gloves from Everlast are a balanced piece at a slightly high price point. Sporting a basic look with a black base, that doesn’t speak to the complexity that these offer. They’re constructed from high-quality synthetic leather for durability and easy maintenance and have a polyester lining to protect the glove, and you, from moisture. These gloves feature Everlast’s new and improved hook and loop strap system for better protection and less chances of slipping. Four layers of foam mean these definitely have a great hold on protection, so that’s something you wouldn’t have to worry about. They come in three standard training glove weights between 12 oz and 16 oz. All around, a good classic training glove for your arsenal.

Blitz Training Boxing Glove

Size / Weight: 8 oz, 10 oz, 12 oz, 14 oz, 16 oz

Price Point: £38.99

Colours: Black, Blue, Red, White

The first thing you notice about these gloves is their very classic and clean look. These are one colour all over, and give major old school vibes. They’re also multi-purpose and work for kickboxing, ring work, or boxing training, which is clear by their range of weights. These are lightweight yet don’t compromise on protection or comfort with their shock-absorbing capabilities. The stitching on these is reinforced for max durability, and they’ve got a thumb bar to reduce forearm strain. The Nama Hide leather alternative construction is easy to clean and care for. The range of sizes available as well as the attractive price mean these are an accessible and classic piece that’s of great use for daily training.

MANTO Boxing Gloves,  Impact black

Size / Weight: 10 oz, 12 oz, 14 oz, 16 oz

Price Point: €42

Colours: Black

The black on these Manto gloves really does make an impact: the striking finish is sleek and patent and looks like ink. The material for these gloves is DX PU synthetic leather, a high-quality leather alternative with a brilliant look and feel. Heavily padded with multiple layers of latex foam, these gloves are still lightweight and flexible. The wide hook and loop velcro strap on these is a whole 8cm wide, so you know wrist protection is accounted for; these aren’t slipping anywhere. The weight range is decent for training gloves as well. Overall, these are beautifully made and they do a great job for training.

Size / Weight: 10 oz, 12 oz, 14 oz, 16 oz, 18 oz

Price Point: £69.99

Colours: Black/ White/ Orange

At 18 oz, these feature the heaviest weight on our list, which means they’re definitely made with heavyweight fighters in mind. This is the upgraded version of RS60V's original sparring glove, with all new materials and tech. This is a hand wrap friendly glove with a great fit. The thick padding (an inch and a half worth) is made of moulded foam for flexibility and durability. The synthetic leather gloves have a wide surface area and a really unique look: black with orange stitching as well as orange and white detailing. The pricing is on the lower end for Rival, but still higher than competitors.
